Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) 2023 is a scheme of the Ministry of Education, Government of India provides an excellent opportunity to the Foreign Nationals / Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) / Non-Resident Indians (NRI) / Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) to study in various Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs in premier Indian technical institutions (National Institutes of Technology (NITs)/ Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs)/ Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST)/ Schools of Planning and Architecture (SPAs)/ and various other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions in India (CFTIs).

CIWG Scheme Reservation Criteria 2023
CIWG is a Scheme Under DASA Quota 2023. According to this CIWG Scheme, 1/3rd of seats are reserved out of the total seats reserved for the DASA Candidates.
However, the DASA 2023 Eligibility Criteria for CIWG candidates will be the same. The candidates under this category will have to submit the relevant identity proof. The countries under CIWG reservation are-

DASA Brochure
DASA-2023 will be conducted by any of the NITs. This is officially announced on the DASA Website. So, the host NIT will soon release the DASA Brochure 2023 as well.
The admissions to various undergraduate and post-graduate programs of premier institutes in India under the DASA Scheme would be made by the JEE Main Score 2023.
Eligibility for DASA/CIWG Scheme 2023
Direct Admission to Student Abroad program ("DASA") Information Brochure mandating Indian Nationals to complete at least two years of education, including their 11th and 12th grade of education in a Foreign Country during the last eight years, and further mandatory.
Academic Eligibility Criteria for NRI Students as per DASA 2023
1. Students must clear classes 11th & 12th from any recognized board outside India.
2. Students must have Physics and Mathematics main subjects in class 11th & 12th.
3. There are no such marking criteria for the year 2023.
4. Students must qualify JEE mains exam as per the cut-off.
5. NRIs, PIOs, OCIs, and FNs who are residing and studying abroad for the last 2 years can apply.
6. There is no age limit for attempting JEE Main.
7. Students who appeared for the class 12th exam but the result is awaited and are likely to get the result this year 2023, can also apply.

The following documents (Originals and two sets of photocopies) are to be produced at the time of Admission.

(2) X Class Pass Certificate / X Marks Sheet
(3) X+2 Pass Certificate / X+2 Marks Sheet
(4) Study and Conduct Certificate
(5) JEE Score Card / JEE Score Report
(6) Transfer Certificate
(7) Migration Certificate
(8) Passport
(9) For CIWG candidates# a. Passport of a parent working in gulf b. Visa of a parent working in gulf c. Letter from the company of parent working in gulf
(10) Four recent color passport size photographs
Total Number Of Seats Under DASA/CIWG Scheme 2023
The total number of seats under the DASA Scheme in the year 2023 was 4342 after the special round. Out of 2893 reserved for DASA candidates, 1450 were reserved for CIWG candidates.

There is a total of 15% of average seats reserved for DASA Candidates Out of which 1450 are reserved for CIWG Candidates.

FAQs on DASA CIWG Scheme
Answer 1: DASA 2023 Brochure will be released in the month of JUNE.
Answer 2: DASA Student Fees for admission to Indian Institute is $4000 for Non-SAARC and $2000 for SAARC Candidates.
Answer 3:Yes, NRI Students can also write Indian State Engineering Exams for admission in various courses.
Answer 5: No, You can apply only in one category whether it is CIWG or NON-CIWG.
Answer 6:No, General quota is specially reserved only for the Indian candidates. So NRI Cannot apply for General Quota.
Answer 7: No, IIIT Hyderabad reserved NRI seats for admission. There is no specific seats for CIWG Candidates.
Dear sir, My daughter is studying 8th and going to 9th class in Indian Embassy school, saudi arabia, Kindly do advise further to continue in saudi or shift to india and take admission in 9 further studies from locally to avoid NRI quota. Thanks & Regards
It seems the 75% mark criteria have been restored for JEE Mains. Does that affect the DASA students? or will the standard prerequisite of 60% aggregate continue to apply to DASA students?
