Documents Needed by NRI Students for Indian Engineering Entrance Exams:
Document submission plays prominent role for NRIs to enhance the chances of getting admission in India’s renowned engineering colleges like IITs, NITs, IIITs and CFTIs.
If you fail to submit the documents or the documents you submit online aren’t as per the norms of the entrance exam conducting board/agency, you’ll be disqualified/tossed out of the entrance exam.
In result, your precious 1 year would be wasted. So, you should always maintain the set of required documents during the registration of the engineering entrance exams.
Note: According to the latest update from DASA, from 2021-22 onwards, JEE Mains Rank will be made mandatory for NRI/PIO/OCI Students to be eligible for DASA & CIWG Schemes. Hence, 2020-21 will be the last academic year when SAT 2 scores will be considered for DASA/CIWG Scheme.

Hence, it’s so important to get ready with the required set of documents for JEE Exam. The required documents of JEE is as follows:

Transcripts of 10th and 12th grades (if available)

Scanned Passport Photograph in JPG/JPEG format (size: 10 kb to 200 kb)

Scanned Signature in JPG/JPEG format (Size: 4 kb to 30 kb)

Scanned Thumb Impressions of both hands

SC, ST, OBC and PwD Documents (to avail reservation feature)

Scanned Disability Documents (if any)

Scanned Residency Proof
Note: Upload the high quality scanned documents. You won’t be given an option to edit the scanned documents, if you fail to upload the scanned documents of high quality.
The verification of the documents will be done at the time of Seat Allotment Process.
Hence, all NRIs have to carry the authentic documents regarding Age, Examination Transcripts, Eligibility and Disability (if any) of the candidate. Hence, authentic documents have to be carried to the seat allotment venue.

DASA/CIWG Required Documents
To avail special 15% quota in prestegious engineering colleges through JEE Main or State level entrance examinations, NRIs candidates must have carry these documents-

Please ensure that Name of the candidate should be exactly the same in the passport, qualifying exam and JEE score.

Applicant’s Passport (Nationals of Nepal who does not have a passport, the copy of Authenticated Citizenship Card has to be submitted*).

Proof of Date of Birth (Secondary Education Board / University Certificate [Class X or equivalent] or any certificate issued by the Government authorities).

Mark Sheet of 10th, 11th and 12th (or) Equivalent examination(s).

Certificate from School authorities (in the format given in Appendix-II on the letterhead of the school) as proof of completion of 11th and 12th Standard or equivalent.

Proof of last 2 years of education in the foreign country in case of NRI (School leaving certificate/Mark sheets/Study Certificate as in appendix IV).

Details and proof of fee payment in case of payment by SWIFT transfer.
