JEE Age Eligibility Criteria
Those NRI candidates who have the desire to give JEE Main examination need to fulfill some eligibility criteria so that they can appear in the entrance examination. Below we have listed the basic eligibility as per age criteria-:
- A candidate who wants to appear in the JEE Main 2021 should be born on or after 1st Oct 1996.
- For PWD and SC/ST candidates, five years of upper age relaxation is provided.
- DOB will be calculated according to the matriculation certificate.
JEE 2021 Age Eligibility Criteria For Foreign Nationals Or NRI
NRI candidates who are planning to appear in JEE Main 2021 should fulfil the eligibility criteria before they fill up the JEE Main Application form -:
Candidate should be born on or after 1st OCT,1996
Candidate must have passed the +2 examination in 2019 & 2020. Furthermore, candidates who are appearing in +2 examinations in 2021 will be eligible to fill the form.
JEE Main 2021 Age Eligibility Criteria For Droppers
For NRI candidates who had dropped class, 12th does not have any age limit.
It is quite important that candidate should have passed their Class 12th examination in the year 2019 or 2020 only.
Minimum Age Required To Appear For JEE Main Examination
The minimum age which is set by the JEE Main authorities to be eligible for the examination is 17 years. A candidate who is filling JEE Main form should be minimum 17 years old.
Documents Required For Doing JEE Main Registration
- While doing registration following are the essential documents which are required by the candidates -:
- DOB matriculation certificate
- Mark sheet or certificate for Class 12th
- Proof of the Identity (adhaar card, pan card, voter ID card etc.)
- Passport or Citizenship certificate
Documents which are required by NRIs are as follows
- Valid Passport
- Student Visa for doing under graduation course in India
Documents which will be considered as the Birth certificate for JEE Main
Only the Matriculation certificate will be considered as the DOB certificate. Apart from this, no certificate will be considered as valid Date of Birth for verification.
JEE Age Eligibility FAQ :
Answer 1: There is no age limit for the candidates.Candidates can appear for JEE Main for 3 consecutive years irrespective of session attempts as two attempts in a year will be considered as one.
Answer2 :He/She must obtain a minimum of 75% marks (65% for SC/ST category) or be in the top 20 percentile in class 12 or equivalent to be eligible for JEE Main 2020.
Answer 3 : Paper 3 ofJEE Main 2020 is exclusively for B. Planning program. Candidates who have passed class 12 exam with mathematics with a minimum of 75% marks are eligible for the Paper 3.
Answer 4 :Yes, You still can. Just prepare well for your IIT JEE EXAM and go for it.
Answer 5 : If you have confidence and believe that you are well prepared for IIT JEE EXAM, you should definitely appear for it.
