Jamia Milia Islamia, or JMI, is a Delhi-based central university. It was established in 1920 and is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council with a "A" grade (NAAC).
NRI Quota in Jamia Millia Islamia
Yes NRI students can take admission into Jamia Millia Islamia University. But DASA / CIWG Quota is not applicable here.
Foreign students and NRIs who meet the eligibility requirements for the programme of their choice but do not wish to take the entrance exam and interview may be eligible for admission under this category. Admission will be granted to such candidates based on a merit list prepared based on their performance in the qualifying test.

Applicants seeking admission under the Supernumerary Category are advised to submit their applications on the specified form, which can be obtained for Rs. 600/- from the Office of the Foreign Students' Advisor or downloaded from the university website.
Under this group, 15% of seats may be made available in addition to standard seats, with 5% reserved for NRIs (Non-Resident Indians), their spouses, dependent son/daughter, including legally adopted children.
If a sufficient number of applicants are not available in either the NRI or the Foreign Passport Holder (FPH) categories, the vacant seats may be filled by applicants from the other category, i.e. FPH to NRIs or vice versa.

JMI Admission Process
Under nine faculties, the University offers over 30 UG, PG, PhD, diploma, PG diploma, advanced diploma, and credential programmes. Admission to both of these programmes is done electronically via the University's official website. Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements must complete an application form for a specific programme. The following are the course-specific information for JMI admissions:
UG Courses in JMI
- JEE Main scores are used to determine admission to BTech and BArch programmes.
- Admission to the BDS programme requires a clear NEET UG exam score.
- Admission to B.Ed. and BA programmes JMI Entrance Exam is used for LLB, BA, BCom, and BHM programmes.
- Admission to other UG programmes is dependent on merit.
- Candidates who have completed Class 12 in the relevant stream are eligible to apply for UG programmes.
- Candidates are chosen based on their performance in the relevant qualifying/entrance test.
PG Courses in JMI

Jamia Merit Scholarship: This scholarship is available to the top scorers in the respective exams.
Merit Scholarship for the Centre of Management: This scholarship is awarded to MBA students in their first and second semesters. This scholarship is given to the top scorers on semester exams.
SC/ST/OBC Scholarship: This scholarship is available to applicants from the reserved categories. Candidates with limited financial resources are also eligible for this scholarship.
