Punjab Engineering College
Punjab Engineering College (considered a university) offers high-quality and socially relevant engineering education at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. The professors and students of his department are involved in research activities of social and economic interest. Our study programs draw their strengths from the design and content of the project.
We strive to further strengthen our research programs and industry relations by supporting our faculty and students in their work on funded research and industry projects, as well as by providing advice. We promote collaborative programs that improve the way our teachers and students interact with the industry.
The institute's website provides information on its resources and activities. This is an opportune time to invite potential industrial companies and other academic and research organizations to explore their relationship with the Punjab Engineering College (as a university) in Chandigarh.

NRI Quota in Engineering Colleges
NRI Quota is available from both public and private engineering schools in India. At private universities, NRIs usually pay a supplement for the place as part of the NRI fee. However, state universities have strict regulations that allow bookings for NRI students, such as DASA and its subsidiary CIWG program. (These programs allow NRI / PIO / OCI and foreign nationals to be admitted to prestigious Indian technical institutes including NIT, IIIT, CFI, and SPA)
-
DASA Program: DASA stands for Direct Admission for Overseas Students and is a program of MHRD, India.
-
CIWG Scheme: CIWG stands for Children of Indian Workers in the Gulf (it is a subset of DASA; 1/3 of the DASA seats are reserved for the Gulf / CIWG Quota scheme; that is, 5% of total college seats). The program is available to students from Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
-
Is there an NRI quota in IIT?
-
There is no NRI fee at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). Admissions are strictly based on the IIT-JEE core and advanced exams.
-

-
NRI / PIO / OCI students can be admitted to NIT, IIIT, SPA, and CFTI (centrally funded technical institutes) under DASA and CIWG. Let's look at the state universities that offer NRI fees in NIT under DASA and the number of openings under the program
Seat Availability for DASA/CIWG quota In PEC

There are 1/3rd seats are reserved for CIWG (Children of Indian Working in Gulf) students under the DASA quota.

Points to consider:
- Among the above universities, 15% of the seats are reserved for NRI / PIO / OCI & FN candidates under the DASA quota.
- Gulf NRI students can apply through the Children of Indian Worker in Gulf (CIWG) program, which has 5% of the seats reserved for them (that is, 1/3 of the DASA seats).
- CIWG applicants must pay a much lower fee than non-Gulf NRIs applying under the DASA fee. (For every CIWG candidate who pays INR 6 lakhs for his UG course, a DASA candidate pays INR 22 lakhs for the same course)
- The competition between these systems is quite fierce
- Beginning in the 2021-2022 session, the DASA program will enroll students based on JEE core scores prior to the enrollment deadline. If you do not submit the main JEE results within the allotted time, you will not participate in the first 3 rounds of admissions consultations, which will lose you the opportunity to integrate into your future universities.
- From the 2021-22 session, the JEE core range is mandatory for DASA / CIWG scores instead of SAT scores.
