JEE Eligibility For IIITs
IIITs are autonomous bodies offering various undergraduate and postgraduate courses. NRI students wish to take admission into IIITs, can either opt for JEE Mains or choose IIITs participating in DASA.
To take admission into IIITs, students take the JEE Main. The essential requirement to take admission into IIIT is your JEE Main. NTA, the body responsible for conducting JEE EXAMS, has introduced some necessary changes within the eligibility criteria for this examination, they have been very specific about their requirements on the list.

JEE Main Eligibility Criteria
Joint examination Main or JEE Main 2022 is a national level examination held for getting admission into undergraduate programs like architecture and engineering. This examination also acts as a preliminary test for JEE Advanced, the ultimate examination to qualify for a seat in IITs.
The JEE Main exam is conducted twice a year, over 2 sessions – January and April. Keeping in mind that aspirants would wish time to organize for this national level examination,

Specific Details

1. Nationality
|
One should be a citizen of India. Foreign nationals such as NRIs, PIOs, OCIs can also apply.
|
2. Age Criteria
|
Any candidate born on or after the 1st of October 1995 is eligible for JEE Main. But reports are that the age limit will be scrapped off for the upcoming exam.
|
3. Total Attempts
|
The exam will be held twice a year so the total attempts a candidate can appear for are six.
|
4. Subjects In The Qualifying Exam
|
Candidates must have studied at least 5 subjects with physics and maths being the main subjects.
|
5. Year Of Passing The Qualifying Exam
|
Candidates who are appearing in class 12th exams provided their result should be declared before 15th of June 2020.
|
Also, Candidates who have cleared 12th class or other equivalent qualifying examination in 2019 or 2020.
|
Both are eligible for appearing in JEE Main 2022.

6. Diploma Holders
|
candidates holding diplomas can apply in JEE Main exam.

7. Marks Eligibility
|
candidates of the general category must have scored at least 75%belonging in their class 12th board exams
|
candidates belonging to a reserved category, a minimum of 65% marks is required.

Apart from JEE, many IIITs have started to conduct their own entrance exam. Some IIITs also participate in DASA as well.

The Eligibility criteria for droppers in JEE Main
These are the two categories of JEE Main examination
- Candidates who appeared for the JEE Main last year failed to qualify and can be making an attempt for it once.
- Students who passed their 12th previous year, took a year gap to prepare for JEE Main and can be shown for it this year.

The best age to qualify for your JEE Mains exam was 25 years. Recently The Supreme Court of India has announced that there is no age of limitation.

Every candidate must complete 10+2.

Minimum marks for SC, ST, PwD Candidates

The minimum aggregate is 65%.
|
Minimum marks for General Candidates
|
The Minimum aggregate is 75% or is within the prime twenty scores in their 12th examination.

Things to Keep In Mind While Preparing For IIIT
Proper Planning
Good planning will keep you focused and result in better gains. Make a to-do list, set your goals, work out how much time is needed to achieve them, and allocate a realistic time frame. See if you are able to achieve them, if yes, set more ambitious goals next time, if not, analyze what went wrong and how you can improve.
