SAT is one of the most well-known standardized tests for taking undergraduate admission to colleges. It is accepted by many colleges across the globe. SAT result is calculated on a scale of 400 to 1600, and 1600 is the highest score. A score of 1200 is taken as a good SAT score. Here in this blog, we will discuss the good universities you can get into with 1200+ SAT scores.
There are more than 500 schools that you can take admission to with a 1200 SAT score. But you should keep in mind that SAT score alone can decide your admission to the college, it is important to have the GPA / percentage that the college is expecting.
Yes, 1200 is quite a good score. It means you are above average and put you in the top 75th percentile. Since the primary goal of SAT is to be eligible for admission at as many universities as possible, a 1200+ score is a decent score and is very beneficial.
1200 SAT score is equivalent to 25 ACT score based on the College Board / ACT agreement.
Most of the colleges take SAT and ACT as the same. And do not prefer one over the other. It depends on you which test you should take.
The major difference between the SAT and the ACT is the time to question ratio. In the ACT, the candidate requires to answer more questions than there are minutes, while SAT offers a bit more time over a question. Besides that ACT ask more complex math question than the SAT. And SAT has a no-calculator section. There are both pros and cons for both.
