For NEET 2026 NRI MBBS admission in Telangana under Category C, the first number families need to check is the official NEET qualifying cutoff. KNRUHS has notified a minimum score of 213 for General/UR/EWS candidates, 194 for General/UR/EWS PwD candidates, and 177 for SC/ST/BC candidates including PwD candidates in those categories.
These are eligibility cutoffs, not college admission cutoffs. Clearing 213, for example, does not guarantee a Category C MBBS seat.
| 2026 Telangana NRI Cut-Off Check | Current Position |
|---|---|
| General / UR / EWS NEET eligibility | 213 marks |
| General / UR / EWS PwD eligibility | 194 marks |
| SC / ST / BC eligibility | 177 marks |
| 2026 college-wise Category C closing cutoff | Not yet officially available as of 22 August 2026 |
| Who conducts Telangana Category C counselling? | KNRUHS |
| Can USA-based NRI/OCI candidates apply? | Yes, subject to NEET qualification and Category C/NRI documentation |
Important: KNRUHS states that community and special-category reservations are not applicable to Management Quota seats. Therefore, the lower reserved-category NEET cutoff is an eligibility threshold and should not be interpreted as a separate reservation advantage within Category C.

This is the minimum NEET score required to be considered eligible. For a General/UR/EWS candidate in 2026, that floor is 213.
This is the NEET score or rank of the last candidate actually allotted a Category C/NRI seat at a particular college and counselling phase. It can only be established from the 2026 allotment data.
For an NRI parent in New Jersey, Texas, California or elsewhere in the United States, the practical question is therefore not only “Did my child qualify NEET?” It is also “Was the NEET rank competitive enough for the specific Telangana Category C seat we selected?”
For the broader distinction between NEET qualification and NRI admission requirements, read our NEET eligibility guide for NRI, OCI and PIO students.
KNRUHS requires candidates applying for Management Quota B and C/NRI seats for the 2026-27 academic year to have secured the applicable NEET UG 2026 qualifying cutoff or above.
| Candidate Category | NEET Percentile | 2026 Minimum Score | What It Means for Category C |
|---|---|---|---|
| General / UR / EWS | 50th percentile | 213 | 213 or above clears the NEET eligibility floor, but does not guarantee an NRI seat. |
| General / UR / EWS PwD | 45th percentile | 194 | 194 or above satisfies the stated NEET eligibility threshold for this category. |
| SC / ST / BC including PwD in these categories | 40th percentile | 177 | 177 is an eligibility threshold. KNRUHS separately states that community and special-category reservations do not apply in Management Quota. |
A candidate can qualify NEET and still miss a particular Category C college because actual allotment depends on merit, available NRI seats, the candidate’s web-option order and competition in that counselling phase.
213 is enough for a General/UR/EWS candidate to meet the official NEET 2026 qualifying threshold, but it is not enough to promise a Category C MBBS seat in Telangana.
The actual Telangana Category C closing rank and closing score will emerge only when KNRUHS conducts the management-quota counselling phases and publishes allotments.
Families trying to convert a NEET score into realistic college options can also use our medical colleges for NRI students based on NEET score guide, while remembering that the official Telangana 2026 allotment data must take priority once released.
Understand how NEET scores relate to NRI-quota MBBS admission and why simply qualifying NEET does not guarantee a particular college or NRI seat.
▶ Watch VideoThis is one of the most important differences for 2026, especially for families finding older Telangana NRI cutoff tables through Google.
In 2025, the official General/EWS NEET qualifying cutoff used by KNRUHS was 144. In 2026, the corresponding minimum is 213. That is a 69-mark increase in the eligibility floor itself.
| NEET Eligibility Category | 2025 Minimum | 2026 Minimum | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| General / UR / EWS | 144 | 213 | +69 |
| General / UR / EWS PwD | 127 | 194 | +67 |
| SC / ST / BC | 113 | 177 | +64 |
Suppose an older 2025 table shows that an NRI seat at a particular college reached a General candidate with 170 marks. A General/UR/EWS candidate scoring 170 in NEET 2026 cannot use that historical closing score as an admission target because 170 is below the official 2026 qualifying floor of 213.
This is why TestPrepKart keeps the NEET 2025 NRI cut-off in Telangana as a historical reference rather than relabelling every old closing score as a 2026 cutoff.

Download NEET E-Book GuideAs of 22 August 2026, a verified college-wise Telangana Category C/NRI closing cutoff for 2026 cannot yet be published because the management-quota counselling has not reached the allotment stage.
KNRUHS has completed the notified registration window, but the provisional merit list, final merit list, 2026 Management Quota seat matrix, web-option schedule and college-wise allotment lists are still awaited.
| 2026 Category C Data Point | Status on 22 Aug 2026 | Why It Matters for the Cut-Off |
|---|---|---|
| NEET qualifying cutoff | Released | Sets the minimum eligibility floor. |
| Management Quota registration | 13 Aug to 20 Aug 2026 – closed | Creates the pool from which merit positions are determined. |
| Provisional Management Quota merit list | Awaited | Shows eligible registered candidates and merit ordering after document scrutiny. |
| Final merit list | Awaited | Used for final counselling eligibility and ranking. |
| 2026 Management Quota seat matrix | Awaited | Confirms the actual seats available for choice filling. |
| Web options | Schedule awaited | Candidate preference order directly affects allotment possibilities. |
| First-phase Category C allotments | Not yet available | This is when the first reliable 2026 college-wise closing ranks can be calculated. |
| College-wise NRI closing cutoff 2026 | Not yet verifiable | Do not substitute a 2025 closing score or an estimated score band and call it an official 2026 cutoff. |
Once official 2026 Category C allotments become available, the useful data to add here will be the college name, counselling phase, last allotted AIR and corresponding NEET score. Until then, publishing a precise “2026 college cutoff” would be speculation.
The Telangana NRI admission cutoff is not fixed in advance. It develops during counselling according to the interaction of merit, available Category C seats and candidate choices.
KNRUHS prepares Management Quota merit using NEET UG 2026 rank after eligibility and document scrutiny.
The number of available seats determines how far allotment can move through the eligible NRI candidate pool.
If more eligible candidates rank the same college highly, its closing rank can become more competitive.
Candidates must place colleges in their actual order of preference. A cutoff table cannot compensate for a poorly constructed option list.
Unfilled or vacated seats can change later-round closing ranks, but families should never assume that a later phase will automatically produce a lower cutoff.
A good NEET rank cannot compensate for a rejected NRI claim, missing sponsor document or unresolved educational-equivalence issue.

Yes. KNRUHS states that candidates from across India are eligible for Management Quota C/NRI seats and that foreign students and NRI candidates are eligible for Category C, subject to the applicable admission and documentation requirements.
This is especially relevant to students studying in the United States because the Telangana local-candidate restrictions applicable to much of Category B should not be confused with Category C. Category C/NRI is open beyond Telangana domicile.
KNRUHS specifically requires candidates seeking Category C consideration to choose the NRI category option in the online Management Quota application. A candidate who does not select that option is not considered for C/NRI seats merely because the family lives abroad.
If your child studies in the United States, also review how NRI students in the USA apply for NEET and MBBS admission and our NEET domicile guide for NRI families.
A U.S.-based family should clear three separate checks before treating a Telangana NRI cutoff as usable.
The candidate must first meet the applicable 2026 NEET qualifying score. For General/UR/EWS candidates, that means at least 213.
The Category C claim must be supported with the required sponsorship declaration, financial supporter’s NRI status proof, bank evidence and passport documentation.
For a qualifying examination outside BIE Telangana, CBSE or ICSE, KNRUHS lists an equivalence certificate from the Board of Intermediate Education, Government of Telangana, along with a migration certificate.
The 2026 KNRUHS document list requires the qualifying examination certificate/10+2 marks memo or equivalent and specifically states that a grade certificate is not accepted. Families using U.S. transcripts or school-issued grade reports should resolve the Telangana equivalence requirement before assuming their academic file is complete.
This is why a student can have a NEET score above a historical Telangana NRI closing score and still face an admission problem if the NRI or academic-document gate is incomplete.
For the 2026-27 Management Quota registration, KNRUHS lists a specific NRI document set. This matters directly to the cutoff because a candidate cannot convert a competitive NEET rank into a Category C allotment without satisfying the NRI eligibility check.
The current KNRUHS registration notification says candidates claiming NRI quota should submit a declaration from a blood relative such as:
For broader sponsorship planning, see NRI sponsorship rules for NEET 2026. State-specific requirements should always take priority when applying through Telangana.

| Document | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
| NRI sponsorship certificate / declaration form | Connects the candidate to the qualifying NRI financial supporter. |
| NRI status certificate of the financial supporter issued by the embassy under its seal | Establishes the supporter’s NRI status in the form requested by KNRUHS. |
| Copy of NRI bank account passbook of the financial supporter | Supports the financial relationship declared for the NRI seat. |
| Copy of passport of the NRI financier | Identity and overseas-status documentation for the financial supporter. |
| OCI/PIO citizenship card, where applicable | KNRUHS asks OCI/PIO candidates to upload the applicable citizenship card as proof. |

The following amounts are directly stated in the current KNRUHS 2026 Management Quota documents.
| Fee / Financial Item | Official 2026 Position | Important Distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Management Quota registration and processing fee | ₹12,000 plus applicable bank transaction charges | Non-refundable registration charge. It is not tuition. |
| Category C/NRI MBBS university fee | ₹70,000 | Paid through the university payment process to obtain the allotment order. It is separate from tuition. |
| MBBS Category C tuition | Governed for 2026-27 by G.O.Ms.No.98 dated 7 August 2026 | Check the exact applicable college tuition before exercising choices and before reporting. This article does not insert an estimated fee. |
| Discontinuation bond | ₹20,00,000 | This is not annual tuition. It is a discontinuation-related bond governed by the admission rules. |
A rounded “₹X lakh” number may be useful for rough budgeting, but it should not be presented as the verified payable fee for a particular 2026 Category C allotment unless the applicable government and college fee documents support it. Cutoff strategy and financial planning should use the same level of verification.
You can review the broader Telangana NRI medical college seats and fee guide and NRI quota fees in private medical colleges for wider budgeting context. Before payment, the current official Telangana fee notification and allotted college instructions should take priority.
The 2025 cutoff is still useful, but it should be treated as historical counselling evidence rather than a 2026 promise.

The cutoff sheet covers major NRI MBBS admission states including Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan and Haryana, with state-wise NRI cutoff score ranges and previous-year closing references for comparison.
The following are illustrative counselling scenarios, not actual 2026 allotments. They show how the official cutoff should be interpreted.
Candidate: General/UR NRI applicant
Even if the family finds an old Telangana NRI table showing a historical seat below 205, the candidate does not meet the 2026 General qualifying floor of 213. Historical low cutoffs cannot override current-year NEET eligibility.
Candidate: General/UR NRI applicant
The candidate clears the 213 eligibility floor. However, it is too early to call 260 a guaranteed Telangana Category C seat because 2026 college-wise allotment cutoffs have not yet been established.
Candidate: U.S.-educated OCI applicant
The score clears the General eligibility threshold, but the family still needs the correct Category C selection, OCI/NRI documentation and the applicable Telangana equivalence and migration documents for the U.S. qualification.

For NEET 2026 NRI admission in Telangana, remember one distinction above everything else:
For 2026, the official qualifying minimum is already known: 213 for General/UR/EWS, 194 for General/UR/EWS PwD, and 177 for SC/ST/BC categories covered by the notification. The college-wise Category C closing scores and ranks are not yet established.
USA-based NRI and OCI families should therefore avoid making admission or financial decisions from a recycled 2025 cutoff. Check the 2026 eligibility floor, verify the NRI and U.S. academic documents, wait for the official seat matrix and then compare the candidate’s NEET AIR against actual 2026 allotment movement.
