BITSAT Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the BITSAT 2025 examination, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Important details: 

• No separate exam (eligibility is based on board exams and national-level competitive exams); 

• Provides financial support for science students in a manner similar to KVPY; 

• Administered by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India.

Candidates must fulfill the following requirements in order to be eligible to take the BITSAT 2025 exam:

Qualifications for Education:

• Candidates must have earned an equivalent qualification or passed their 12th grade test under the 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board.

Subject prerequisites:

• Physics, chemistry, mathematics, one language, and any other topic beyond these four must be taken in a minimum of five subjects.

Minimum Points:

• A combined 75% grade in math, chemistry, and physics.

• At least 60% in each of the three subjects—mathematics, chemistry, and physics.

The year that passed:

• Eligible students to take the BITSAT-2025 are those who are taking the 12th grade test in 2025 or who passed the exam in 2024.

BITSAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria (For All Programs Except B.Pharm)

Current Option: INSPIRE Fellowship Students can now apply for scholarships under INSPIRE since KVPY and INSPIRE (Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research) merged. 
Important details: 

• No separate exam (eligibility is based on board exams and national-level competitive exams); 

• Provides financial support for science students in a manner similar to KVPY; 

• Administered by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India.

The following eligibility requirements must be fulfilled by applicants to BITS Pilani's B.E., M.Sc., and other non-B.Pharm programs:

1. Educational Background

• Candidates must have passed a recognized Central or State Board's (10+2) Class 12 exam (or its equivalent).

• It is required that the qualifying test be finished in 2024 or 2025.

2. Subject Conditions

• Candidates must have completed the required coursework in mathematics, physics, and chemistry (PCM).

• English language proficiency is also necessary.

3. Minimum Aggregate Marks Needed

• A minimum of 75% in the combined subjects of physics, chemistry, and mathematics (PCM).

• A minimum of 60% in each of the following subjects is required: math, chemistry, and physics.

4. Limit on Attempts

• Eligibility is limited to students who took the Class 12 exam in 2024 or 2025.

• Only the most recent performance will be taken into account if a contender has made more than one attempt.

5. Board Toppers Get Direct Admission

• Regardless of their BITSAT result, top-ranked candidates from all Indian central and state boards will be directly admitted to the program of their choosing.

BITSAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria for B.Pharm

The following requirements must be fulfilled by applicants to BITS Pilani's B.Pharm program:

1. Educational Background

• It must have completed a recognized Central or State Board's (10+2) Class 12 exam (or its equivalent).

• It is required that the qualifying test be finished in 2024 or 2025.

2. Subject Conditions

• Candidates must have completed Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) as required coursework in their 12th grade year.

• Applicants that choose mathematics over biology are also qualified.

• Proficiency in English is necessary.

3. Requirement for Minimum Marks

• Aggregate: A minimum of 75% in the combined subjects of physics, chemistry, and biology/mathematics (PCB/PCM).

• A minimum of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics is required for each individual subject.

4. Limit on Attempts

• Eligibility is limited to students who took the Class 12 exam in 2024 or 2025.

• Only the most recent performance will be taken into account if a contender has made more than one attempt.

5. Board Toppers Get Direct Admission

• Regardless of their BITSAT result, top-ranked candidates from all Indian central and state boards will be admitted directly to the B.Pharm program.
