Q1. Who will conduct JEE Main in 2026, as there is confusion?
Ans. The National Testing Agency (NTA) — under direction of the JEE Apex Board (JAB) — will conduct JEE Main. It has taken over this role from CBSE.
Q2. How will the new JEE Main in 2026 be conducted?
Ans. The exam is fully computer-based (CBT) for Paper 1 (BE/BTech) and most parts of Paper 2 (B.Arch / B.Planning). Only the Drawing test (in B.Arch) remains offline. It continues to be held twice a year (Session 1 & Session 2).
Q3. What is the eligibility to sit for JEE Main in 2026?
Ans. Candidates must have studied Physics + Mathematics + one among Chemistry / Biology / Technical Vocational / Biotechnology in Class 12 (or equivalent). They should also satisfy the board’s academic cutoff (for many institutions, 75% or top 20 percentile in board exam). [check 2026 eligibility bulletin]
Q4. Is it mandatory to give the exam twice? Which score will be considered?
Ans. Not mandatory — you may give one or both sessions. If you take both, the higher score / better NTA score will be considered for ranking.
Q5. Do I require Aadhaar Card to apply for JEE Main?
Ans. No, Aadhaar is not mandatory anymore. Candidates may use other valid government IDs (passport, voter ID, etc.).
Q6. When will the registration process begin for JEE Main?
Ans. Session 1 registration is expected around Nov / Dec 2025, and Session 2 registration around Feb / March 2026. [verify official dates]
Q7. I made mistakes in my JEE application. Can I correct them & how?
Ans. Yes — a correction window is provided after submission, during which candidates can edit certain fields or add / remove session / paper choices.
Q8. How can I prepare for both JEE Main & Advanced if I’m in Class 11?
Ans. Start with strong fundamentals (NCERT), follow reference books, solve a lot of problems, take regular mocks & past papers. Enroll in good online / offline coaching or structured self-study. (This advice remains valid.)
Q9. I am an NRI living in India and don’t have Aadhaar. Can I apply for JEE?
Ans. Yes — as Aadhaar is not mandatory, NRI / foreign candidates can apply using valid IDs like passport, etc.
Q10. How do I apply for JEE Main & what is the registration process?
Ans. Registration is entirely online via the official JEE Main website (jeemain.nta.nic.in). You’ll fill personal/academic details, upload scanned documents, choose exam sessions / paper etc, and pay the fee.
Q11. What subjects are in JEE Main?
Ans. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics — each subject contributes to the total.
Q12. What is the question paper pattern of JEE Main?
Ans. In the revised pattern: for Paper 1, each subject has 20 MCQs + 5 Numerical / Value Questions, total 75 questions. Section B (numerical) questions are all compulsory, no optional ones.
Q13. What is the application fee for JEE & how can I pay it?
Ans. The fee structure is published in the information bulletin. (Earlier it was ~₹650 for general, but [verify 2026 fee]). Payment is online (net banking / card / etc.).
Q14. What is the syllabus for JEE 2026?
Ans. The syllabus is similar to 2025’s: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics topics as per the NTA / JEE Main official notification. Some chapters were removed in 2025; check latest bulletin for final syllabus.
Q15. What is the counselling procedure for JEE Main?
Ans. After the results, a centralized allotment (e.g. JoSAA / CSAB / respective counselling bodies) is conducted for seat allocation to NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, etc.
Q16. What is the reservation quota in JEE?
Ans. Central / All-India reservation (expected): OBC-NCL: 27%, SC: 15%, ST: 7.5%, EWS: 10%, with 5% horizontal reservation for PwD.
Q17. What are exam centres & how do I select one?
Ans. Many cities across India plus selected foreign centres (Colombo, Kathmandu, Singapore, Bahrain, Dubai, Muscat, Riyadh, Sharjah, etc.). Candidates specify preferred exam cities, not exact building.
Q18. Which books are best for JEE preparation?
Ans. Use NCERT as base. For deeper / problem practice: H. C. Verma, I. E. Irodov, Arihant series, P. Bahadur, etc.
Q19. How will I get my JEE admit card?
Ans. Admit Card will be downloadable from the official site using application number / login credentials once released (no physical copy sent).
Q20. What is the mode of examination?
Ans. Computer-based test (CBT) mode for most portions; with offline drawing test for B.Arch.
