What is CIWG Quota?
CIWG is Children of Indian Workers in Gulf. It is a special quota under DASA scheme for children of Indian workers in Gulf countries.
CIWG is not a separate admission process. It is a reserved seat category under DASA. About one-third of DASA seats are reserved for CIWG candidates. The prime advantage of CIWG quota is that eligible Gulf students can get admission under DASA with a lesser tuition fee than the regular DASA Non-SAARC category.
The Gulf countries included under CIWG are:
| United Arab Emirates |
Kuwait |
| Bahrain |
Oman |
| Iraq |
Qatar |
| Iran |
Saudi Arabia |
To claim CIWG benefit, either parent of the candidate must be working or must have worked in a Gulf country till any date in the admission year.

DASA CIWG Preparation Strategy for JEE Main
Since admission to DASA and CIWG is based on JEE Main rank, students should start preparing early. School curriculum abroad may not be fully aligned with JEE Main level, so NRI students often find it difficult.
A strong preparation plan should include:
| NCERT-based concept clarity |
Previous year JEE Main questions |
| JEE Main chapter-wise practice |
Time-bound mock tests |
| Regular Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics tests |
Doubt clearing sessions |
| DASA CIWG choice filling strategy |
Rank-based college planning |
Students from Gulf countries, USA, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and other international locations should follow a JEE focused plan and not rely only on school level preparation.
