Admissions for engineering in India can be taken through several pathways based on the nationality and resident status of the student and his eligibility and admission category in JEE. The IIT fees do not remain same in all the institutes as well as among all kinds of students. Total fees might consist of tuition fees, institute fees, hostel fees, mess fees, refundable deposit fees, and many other types of fees. It is possible for NRI students to gain admission in IITs; however, it depends on their nationality and other criteria such as whether they have OCI/foreign nationality status or not. Admission in IIT is dependent mostly on JEE Advanced test, and candidates who are eligible will have to follow the procedures of JoSAA/IIT admission process as per that year.
