Indian Maritime University (IMU)
The Indian Maritime University (IMU) came into existence through an Act of Parliament (Act 22) on November 14, 2008. It is a centrally funded University. This University is one of its kind which provides education in the field of maritime.
IMU offers many Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and doctorate courses in the marine field. Candidates who want their career in the marine field then they must take admission to Indian Maritime University.

NRI admission in Indian Marine University (IMU)
IMU provides seat reservations to the NRI students who are willing to take admission in Maritime courses with the view of growing marine knowledge and get good job opportunities in the Marine field.
DASA/CIWG quota was settled by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and it provides seat reservations to DASA as well as CIWG quota students.
Seat Availability for NRIs in IMU
Under DASA/CIWG quota NRI students get seat reservations and by clearing the IMU Common Entrance Examination candidates can secure their seats in the University.
There are a total of 65 seats available on all campuses under the DASA and CIWG quota.

Eligibility Criteria for NRI students
- 10+2 (PCM) with 60% marks average and 50% marks in English.
- Candidates should qualify their class 12th from a recognized board before applying for entrance exams of the University.
- Candidates must have Physics and Mathematics as specialized subjects.
- NRI candidates must carry their passports while the admission process.
- Candidates should qualify IMU Common Entrance examination.
Fees Structure for NRI Students in IMU
There is a different fee structure for the Indian students and students who are from India but living in foreign countries or NRIs. NRI students get admission through DASA/CIWG quota so the fees payable by NRI students are according to the DASA/CIWG quota.
