IISER Kolkata

The IISER Kolkata is situated in Mohanpur near a town named Kalyani, Kolkata. It was established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development in 2006. It is a research and education institute in Nadia district in West Bengal.

The institute was established with the aim of achieving excellence in research in basic science in the undergraduate and graduate level. The admission in this college is through KVPY and JEE.

The Department of Biological Sciences

The department of biological sciences conducts research and teaching of animal behaviour, biodiversity, cell and molecular biology, developmental biology, ecology, evolution, genetics, conservation biology, immunology, marine biology, microbiology, neurobiology, plant biology, physiology, population biology, structural biology and biophysics

The Department of chemical sciences

It was the first department founded by the department of chemical sciences(DCS). The department concentrates mainly on the growth of physics, inorganic and organic chemistry.

Department of Computational and Data Sciences

This department was recently in the year 2020. This department is responsible for the students to get exposed to the computation.

Department of earth and sciences

This department was started in 2007 a year after IISER Kolkata was established.

Department of humanities and social sciences

It was established to promote research and teaching of disciplines of human science and social sciences both.

Department of Mathematics and statistics

As an integral part of the dynamic, fresh and promising new concept called IISER Kolkata. This department ensures that the student is able to get the knowledge about mathematics and statistics efficiently and effectively.
