This scheme is designed for NRI / OCI / PIO / CIWG-eligible students (including those living in the USA and the Middle East) who wish to apply for undergraduate programs (B.Tech, B.E., B.Arch., B.Plan) in NITs, IIITs, SPAs, and other centrally funded or premier technical institutes in India, excluding IITs.
As per the latest release, the total number of seats for DASA UG admission has increased compared to the previous seat-matrix, offering more opportunities for current applicants and upcoming 2026 DASA/CIWG candidates.

The DASA UG 2025 seat matrix serves as the official allocation plan for seats under various categories across participating institutes. After the registration announcement, the authorities published the seat-matrix on the official DASA / counselling website. NRI / OCI / PIO / CIWG-eligible students (including those based in the USA and Middle East) can view/download the DASA UG 2025 seat matrix for reference.

Q1. What is the DASA/CIWG UG Seat Matrix?
It is the official document showing institute-wise and branch-wise seat availability for NRI, OCI, PIO and CIWG applicants, including those residing in the USA and Middle East, applying to NITs, IIITs, SPAs and CFTIs through JEE Main.
Q2. Who is eligible for seats under the DASA/CIWG matrix?
NRI, OCI, PIO and foreign national students, including CIWG aspirants from Gulf/Middle East, are eligible if they meet academic requirements and present a valid JEE Main rank as per DASA/CIWG admission guidelines released for the 2025–26 cycle.
Q3. Does DASA/CIWG include IITs in the seat matrix?
No. IITs do not participate under the DASA or CIWG scheme. Admissions are limited to NITs, IIITs, SPAs and other centrally funded or approved technical institutes offering DASA/CIWG supernumerary quota seats for JEE-qualified NRI and CIWG applicants.
Q4. Does the seat matrix include separate CIWG seats?
Yes. CIWG seats are listed separately in the matrix for children of Indian workers residing in Gulf/Middle East. These seats fall under the DASA quota and are allocated based on JEE Main rank and counselling cut-offs of participating institutes.
Q5. Has the DASA UG seat count increased for 2025?
Yes. The 2025 DASA UG seat matrix reflects more seats compared to previous cycles, providing better opportunities for current and 2026 aspirants. Exact year-to-year increment figures should be verified from the official 2025–26 seat-matrix PDF.
Q6. Can USA-based NRIs apply under CIWG?
No. CIWG is strictly for NRIs whose parents work in approved Gulf/Middle East countries. USA-based NRI students apply under General DASA International category, not CIWG, but can still access DASA seats using JEE Main rank.
Q7. Do CIWG students pay the same fee as Indian residents?
Yes. CIWG students admitted under this reserved category pay tuition at the same rate as Indian resident students, making it significantly cheaper than standard DASA international fees for NRI applicants, especially those from Gulf or Middle East.
Q8. How are General DASA and CIWG seats separated?
The matrix lists General DASA International seats and CIWG-reserved seats separately for every branch and institute. CIWG allotments are part of the DASA supernumerary quota and may vary by branch depending on available sanctioned allocations each cycle.
Q9. Which colleges appear in the DASA/CIWG seat matrix?
The matrix includes NITs, IIITs, CFTIs and SPAs such as DTU, NIT Surathkal, NIT Calicut, NIT Trichy, IIIT Allahabad, IIIT Kottayam, PEC Chandigarh and many others approved for DASA admissions through JEE Main.

Q11. Does the matrix show branch-wise seat distribution?
Yes. Seat availability is displayed branch-wise, with General DASA and CIWG counts shown separately. This helps students shortlist the most suitable program based on branch capacity, demand, competition trends and JEE Main cut-offs.
Q12. How can candidates access the full 2025 matrix?
The official matrix is published on the DASA admission portal following registration. Students can download it for institute-wise seat count, CIWG distribution and course availability. Some institutes may also share independent DASA seat-allocation notices.
Q13. Do DASA/CIWG seat counts remain the same every year?
No. Seat numbers can increase or decrease depending on sanctioned intake, academic council approvals, branch expansions and DASA regulatory updates. Hence, students must refer to the current 2025–26 seat matrix rather than older admission cycles.
Q14. Does every course offer CIWG seats under DASA?
Most engineering branches and programs provide CIWG allocation, but a few limited-seat or specializations may not include CIWG seats every year. Confirmation should be done by checking institute-wise branch availability in the latest official seat-matrix.
Q15. Does the seat matrix guarantee admission?
No. The matrix only displays seat strength. Admissions are decided by JEE Main rank, counselling rounds, eligibility compliance, competition intensity and CIWG/Non-CIWG seat availability during final allotment across participating institutes.
