Top Colleges With The Best Engineering Programs

With growing opportunities and the recent initiatives by the state and central government, India has transformed into one of the largest destinations to study Engineering and Technology.

This is why Non-Resident Indians, Foreign Nationals, Children of Indians Working in Gulf, Person of Indian Origin have sparked interest in pursuing engineering or technological education.

As per stated norms, the Directorate of Technical Education a total of 15% seats have been made available to NRI / FN / PIO / CIWG in engineering colleges. These reservations have made it easier for NRIs to pursue engineering education along with the unique admission process.

Here are some of the colleges that offer educational experiences incomparable to anywhere else –

Scenario 1 – IITs

In 1945 the government of India, appointed a twenty-two-member committee of industrialists, scientists, and educators, under the chairmanship of N. R. Sarkar, who was tasked with the establishment of higher educational institutions.

There is No NRI quota available in IITs for NRIs students. They must have cleared JEE Advanced to take admission into IITs.

The main goal was to ensure a sufficient supply of technical staff for India's industrial establishment. The committee recommended the establishment of a minimum of four ‘higher technical institutions’ each one in the north, south, east, and west.

The first is based near Calcutta (Kolkata) and the other near Bombay (Mumbai). These institutions may have been modelled after the Massachusetts Institute of Technology ( MIT).

Scenario 2: NITs and CFTIs

National Institutes of Technology and Centrally Funded Technological Institutes are government-funded autonomous educational institutes that are recognized widely.

There is special quota available for NRIs / PIOs / OCIs students in form of DASA / CIWG Quota.

The National Institutes of Technology are independent public institutions established to offer higher education to students. These institutes are regulated over by the National Institutes of Technology Act 2007, which also proclaimed them as National Institutes of Importance parallel to the Indian Institutes of Technology.

There are 31 NITs around the country with approximately 19,000 seats. NITs are also Institutes of Importance as widely recognized by the government. Here is a list of a few CFTIs and NITs –
