Admission Criterion To IITs Relaxed By HRD Ministry
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) has decided to relax the admission criterion this year in view of the partial cancelation of class 12 exams by the various boards, Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' announced Friday. A student will still have to pass their 12th class, however.

Candidates who clear JEE-Advanced will be qualified to be admitted to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) irrespective of class 12 marks, said by Union HRM Minister.

The news comes as an immense relief for aspirants aspiring to join the most prestigious educational institution in India
For IIT admissions earlier, apart from qualifying for the JEE-Advanced, the eligibility was either to obtain a minimum score of 75 percent marks in Class 12 Board exams, or to place among the top 20 percentiles in their qualifying exams.
