JNTUH College of Engineering Jagtial (JNTUHCEJ) was established in the year 2007 as a constituent college of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad. The college is recognized by UGC under Section 2(f) & 12 (B) of the UGC Act, 1956.

JNTUHCEJ received THE ENGINEERING EDUCATORS AWARD from the University of Bradford, UK and Education Matters for exemplary commitment and impactful positive contribution to the education sector on 8th February, 2014.

JNTUHCEJ started functioning with five Under Graduate Programs viz., EEE, ECE, CSE, IT &ME with intake of 60 in each program. Students take admissions to UG programs through EAMCET only. Since 2011, the college is offering five Post Graduate Programs viz., EPS in EEE, ED in ME, DSCE in ECE, CSE and IT with an intake of 18in each PG branch. Total number of intake per annum in UG is 300 and in PG is 90. Also, in every branch 6 students through ECET shall take lateral entry admission in B.Tech II year. The total sanctioned intake for UG and PG programs together in all 5 branches is 1470. About80-85% students reside in the campus hostels. A high percentage of girls almost equal to boys take admissions in the college as well as reside in the hostels.

College is having well equipped, state of art laboratories in all the departments, about 180 CC cameras for security, Biometric entry/exit system for hostel students, one male and one female well qualified doctors are available in dispensary, about 50 security staff is working in the campus, auditorium with capacity of 250 seats, open auditorium, RO drinking water system and supply from Mission Bhagiratha, bus facility for the students from Karimnagar, Ambulance, Bank, ATM, Sports grounds, Solar street lights,Gym in hostels, and a 24x7 computer Lab.

The faculty is highly qualified and about 90% of them possesses Ph.D degree.

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, was established on 2nd October 1972 by the Legislature of the State of Andhra Pradesh as the first Technological University in the country. It has been in the forefront for the past 44 years in providing quality technological education in the State of Telangana. After 36 years of existence it was restructured into 4 different Universities by the Government vide Government Ordinance No.13, dated 18th August 2008 and Act of State Legislature No.30 dated September 2008 and this new University has been designated as Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH).

JNTUH Campus occupied in 89 Acres of land situated at Kukatpally, Hyderabad. It has now 4 Constituent Engineering Colleges are located at Hyderabad, Nachupally (Kondagattu)Dist.Jagtial, Manthani and Sultanpur (Medak dist.) and 15 other constituent units on Hyderabad campus. JNTUH offers B.Tech. programmes in 24 disciplines and B.Pharm at UG level; Integrated 5-year dual degree Masters programme; M.Tech. Programmes in 68 disciplines, M.Pharm. in 11 disciplines; M.Sc. in 10 disciplines; MCA, MBA and Double Degree Programmes at P.G. level; in addition to the offer of M.S., M.Phil., and Ph.D. Research Programmes in various disciplines of Engineering, Technology, Science, Management and Humanities. JNTUH has 423 affiliated colleges spread over the Telangana State. JNTUH has more than 3.50 lakhs of students on rolls. The University has Memoranda of University with many national and international organizations.
