Admission
Indian Maritime University provides B.Tech and B.Sc programmes in a variety of specialisations to students interested in pursuing a career in the field of maritime engineering and science at the undergraduate level. Candidates for admission to B.Sc. and B.Tech. programmes must have completed 10+2 with a minimum of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics combined. Candidates who meet the university's eligibility requirements must take the university's Common Entrance Test (CET).
In order to appear for the Common Entrance Test, candidates seeking admission to B.Sc. and B.Tech. programmes should register online using the admission portal available on the official university website (CET). For general applicants, the registration fee is INR 1000, while for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates, the fee is INR 700.
The following is the IMU CET Syllabus for all UG Programs (excluding BBA):
The number of questions is 200, and they are all multiple choice.
English, General Aptitude, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at Plus 2 level are on the syllabus.
Lateral Entry into the second year of B.Tech. is also available at the university (Marine Engineering). Candidates with a Diploma in Marine/Mechanical Engineering and a cumulative grade point average of at least 60% are eligible for lateral entry admission. The relevant IMU Campuses/ Affiliated Institutes will welcome applications for this separately.
NRI admission in Indian Marine University (IMU)
IMU provides seat reservations to the NRI students who are willing to take admission in Maritime courses with the view of growing marine knowledge and get good job opportunities in the Marine field.
DASA/CIWG quota was settled by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and it provides seat reservations to DASA as well as CIWG quota students.
