Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Institute of Engineering and Technology (PKIET) is an engineering college in Serumavilangai, Nedungadu, Karaikal, India. It was established in 2007.
The Government of Puducherry has upgraded this Institution as Inter-disciplinary Technical Institute of Puducherry, since 2020-2021, and initiated the closure of the existing B.Tech. courses viz, Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology and Electronics and Communication Engineering; thereby started three specialized B.Tech. courses (Agricultural Engineering, Biomedical Engineering and Petrochemical Engineering) at Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Institute of Engineering and Technology. These new courses are designed to build the fundamentals and cater to the industry needs. Exposure to real industry problems is given adequate importance.
Since the Academic Year 2020–2021, the following three B.Tech. courses have been introduced. These courses are affiliated to Puducherry Technological University, Puducherry.
- B.Tech. in Agricultural Engineering
- B.Tech. in Biomedical Engineering
- B.Tech. in Petrochemical Engineering
This educational institution comes under the control and supervision of the Government of Pondicherry and is affiliated with the Puducherry Technological University (PTU). Students are getting placed in core companies through campus recruitment programme.
