Government Polytechnic College(Purasawalkam)

Government Polytechnic College, Purasawalkam, Chennai was established by Government of Tamil Nadu in the year 1999, to cater to the needs and aspirations of the people who cannot afford the costly technical education offered by the private institutions.

This college started functioning first in the Central Polytechnic College campus at Tharamani, Chennai and then after the completion of building works and establishment of laboratories was shifted to the present location in the year 2006. The college can be reached by a street opposite T.B.Hospital near Ayanavaram bus depot.

This institution is a coeducation Government Polytechnic College. Three high-tech diploma courses are being offered namely

• Mechatronics Engineering
• Information Technology and
• Computer Engineering
• In take per shift in each course is 60. Two shift are being conducted.
• The land area is 5 acres.
• The built up area is 5600 Sq.Ms.
