The Professional Examination Board (PEB) is a self-financed, autonomous incorporated body of State Government of Madhya Pradesh. The board was initially set-up as Pre Medical Test Board by Government of Madhya Pradesh in the year 1970. Later, in the year 1981, Pre Engineering Board was constituted. In the year 1982, both these Boards were amalgamated and named as Professional Examination Board (P.E.B.) by Government Order No. 1325-1717-42-82 dated 17.04.1982. The Board was assigned the responsibility of conducting entrance tests for admission of various colleges in the state.
The Government enacted Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board Act 2007 in order to reorganize the activities of the board and provide new directions on policy and organizational matter.
The Professional Examination Board (PEB) is currently the Largest Entrance Recruitment and Selection conducting body in India. It conducts approximately 30 Entrance, Recruitment and Selection examinations in a year. On an average, approximately 20 Lac applicants take part in the examinations conducted by PEB. Professional Examination Board is located on a picturesque location on Arera Hills Bhopal, opposite Chinar Park (East) on a spread of over 3.89 acres. It is conveniently located in the capital city of Bhopal and in close proximity to most of the government establishment namely Vidhan Sabha, Secretariat, Vindhyachal Bhawan, Satpuda Bhawan, Board Office to name a few. For the benefit of candidates, a branch of Oriental Bank of Commerce is functional in PEB premises. PEB is supported by a staff of over 100 people spread over 16 sections managing various stages of successful conduct of examination. Most of the staff is permanent or deputed from various departments of state government of Madhya Pradesh. The vision of the board is “Provide the best Selection & Recruitment Services driven by Technology and Values with focus on people needs thereby creating a better tomorrow”. In tune with the latest development in the field of Information Technology, PEB has embarked on a journey to make use of latest technologies and infrastructure for conduct of examination. This includes exam process automation system, computer based examination system, use of psychometric consultants for conduct of examinations, Use of Image Capturing OMR machines and availability of PEB applications/results on Mobile Applications to name a few. We are also present on Facebook to reach out to the younger crowd for increasing their participation and information dissemination. All the Activities, Events, Examination Schedule and Results conducted by PEB are being actively updated on our website as well as Facebook and Mobile application. In line with the vision of board to focus on people needs, PEB has developed portal to capture information of people with special needs so that they can be proactively updated on any upcoming recruitment or admission opportunities for them. Along with this, PEB has also done tie-up with CSC and District administration to help set-up and finance one thousand Kiosks in remote and far-flung areas to help reach out people from remotest part of Madhya Pradesh. The board is fully committed to provide zero error result and make them available within the shortest possible time to the respective departments. The results are prepared maintaining utmost security and secrecy. After the results are declared and uploaded on net, board makes available related data and other relevant information to the concerned departments.
