JEE Advanced Reservation Criteria has been released along with a brochure for General, Other Backward Classes (OBC), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) Women Candidates, Economically Weaker Section, and Person with Disability.

Total Number of Seat Matrix at 23 IITs

There is limited number of seats in 23 IITs that is 16,264 for about 2.5 lakh applicants. Given below table is showing the number of seats as per JoSAA Seat Matrix 2021 for all the reserved categories. 

JEE Advanced for NRI, PIO, OCI, FN Students:

NRI Candidates:

NRI candidates who wish to gain admission into IITs need to appear for JEE Advanced after qualifying JEE Main. They have no quota of reservation at IITs. Their eligibility criteria are as follows:

• Candidates must have scored positive marks and cleared JEE Main examination.

• They must have been born on or before October 1, 1997, as of the 2022 JEE Advanced examination. Five years relaxation is given to SC/ST/PWD candidates.

• They can attempt the JEE Advanced examination a maximum of two times and only in two consecutive years.

• Candidate must be appearing for 12th standard or equivalent examination in 2022 or must have completed it in 2022.

• Candidate should not have been admitted into any IIT earlier or found not eligible in previous JEE Advanced examination.
