About PGEE
PG Entrance Examination (PGEE) is required for admission to all PG programs. There are three types of PG programmes:-

• Master of Technology (M.Tech) programme which is based on course work.
• Master of Science (M.S) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programmes which require some course work and completion of a research thesis.
• Master of Technology (M.Tech) programme in Product Design and Management.

Duration of Programmes:-

1. M.Tech:- 2 years.
2. M.S:- 2 years.
3. Ph.D:- 5 years.

Exam
Applicants need to appear for a computer-based examination conducted by IIITH. The exam will be held in multiple centres across many cities (List of Centers). Candidates shortlisted from this exam will have to clear an interview to gain admission. The decision on final offer of admission is solely based on the interview performance.

• Date of the examination:- 3rd July, 2021 (2.00 PM to 5.00PM).
• SAARC country nationals are eligible for PGEE and will be treated on par with Indian nationals.

How to apply?

• Application Fee:- INR 2,000 (Non-refundable).

Tuition Fee for M.Tech Programmes:-

1. INR 3,00,000 for the academic year 2021-22.
2. Hostel and Mess fees extra; these charges will be on par with the other students at the institute.
3. Payment of Initial Fee:-

• Candidates who have been allotted a seat should confirm the acceptance of the seat by paying the tuition fee for one semester, on or before the acceptance dates announced with the seat allotment.
• The first semester tuition fee of INR 1,50,000 should be paid online through the payment portal. Instructions for payment will be emailed to you.

MS / PhD Seat Acceptance and Fee Payment Deadline
Selected applicants need to pay Seat Acceptance Fee of Rs. 10,000/- (non refundable) by 4th August 2021, 5:00 PM.
