CBSE CCE
All About CCE
CCE (Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation) education system was introduced by CBSE. This education system is applicable for Grade VI to Grade X students.
It is important for students to know their strengths and weaknesses. Put time and effort into preparing subjects they consider themselves to be weak in.
There are students who can get hold of a particular topic in less time than others. But some may need to invest more time and effort.
Keep these features in hand, CCE focuses mainly in evaluating every aspect of the children during their presence at the school. With the CCE education system, the weak students will be able to focus more.
How CCE is Helpful
CCE helps in getting students' strength back regarding performance by identifying their learning teething troubles. This process is replicated by CCE to the school at regular time intervals which start right from the beginning of the academic session of a student.
For this, CCES employs a suitable counteractive method to enhance their learning performance.
The scheme of replicating the evaluation process leads to in-built plans for those schools which are affiliated with CBSE. These schools can make their own academic schedules following CCE guidelines.
CCE Tests
CCE conducts mainly two types of tests: formative and summative for students. Both types of Tests are organized for Grades 6th to 10th. These tests are scaled 9 points.
Informative tests, class, and home works are arranged for students to be done, performance reports in oral tests are checked, and quiz results, assignments, and project reports are assessed which all are submitted by students.
This test is conducted 4 times in an academic session carrying 40% weightage for the total (aggregate). Some schools organize written test instead of conducting multiple oral tests (except one mandatory oral test).
In the summative test, a three-hour-long written test is conducted twice in an academic session, i.e., twice a year. The first Summative Assessment (SA-1) Test is conducted by CCE after the first two formative tests are completed.
The Summative Assessment (SA-2) Test is conducted after the next two formative tests. Each summative will carry a 30% weightage and both together will carry a 60% weightage for the total (aggregate). The summative assessment will be conducted by the CBSE-affiliated schools itself.
The question papers will be partially prepared by the CBSE. The answer sheets are evaluated and monitored by CBSE. Once completed, the syllabus of one summative will not be repeated in the next. The CBSE publishes the result by adding the formative score to the summative score, i.e., 40% + 60% = 100% at the end of every year.
The main subjects include English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Civics, Geography and Economics. Whereas additional subjects include Japanese, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kashmiri, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Manipuri, Oriya, Punjabi, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Sanskrit, Arabic, Persian, French, Tibetan, German, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Nepali, Limboo, Lepcha, Bhutia, and Mizo.
The main aim of CCE is to focus on the process of continuous learning in point of fact focuses more on projects and activities than actual learning.
